Tanning and Body Art

The goal of the tanning and body art/piercing program is to prevent the spread of disease and blood-borne pathogens. The health department conducts inspections of these facilities to assure proper compliance with the Illinois Tanning Facilities Code and Illinois Body Art/Piercing Code and also investigates complaints made against non-compliant facilities.
